I got placement here via an acquaintance. We do different works varying from food quality, hazard control, analysis of food to critical control points. Jus about everything to make sure the food quality is 100% and safe for the consumer to eat.

It was quite easy getting placement there.

Food Engineering students can do IT anywhere that has to do with food. Food is universal, so it’s not hard to find a company.

What was the first shocking experience you had at your place of work?

The first shock I experienced was that there’s no pay and no food for IT students…As big as the company is…haba!

Also, I was first placed in the microbiology laboratory. As a food engineering student, I ought to work at the engineering part.

Interesting things about your workplace.

Everything about the place is interesting

What are the challenges you face every day at your place of work?

Well, no challenges for now…

Olubiyi Mercy

What have you learned other than things related to academics?

I’ve learnt how to communicate well since I have to deal with males everyday. About 90% of the company’s employees are male.

Also, I’ve improved in the Al areas asides from food.

From your brief experience, which is easier? Work or School?

Well from my experience, I’d say work is easier!

Has your IT program contributed to your academic and personal life?

Yes, it has contributed to my academics and personal life.
