#Myfarmstory by Adesala Bukunmi
Since I was a child, I have always wanted to stuff an accounting-related course; either banking and finance or accounting. But, my intentions changed when my parents insisted that I must be in Science department during my early senior secondary days.
I had to oblige since I had no choice. A few months into Senior secondary classes. I realized Agricultural science was the only subject I derived pleasure in.
If you could wake me up by the middle of the night to test my agricultural knowledge. I’d give answers as if it was during the day. This prompted my decision to study agriculture at the University.
Although my parents objected, they wanted me to study one of the Pure and Applied science courses but I insisted on Agricultural science.
Fortunately, I got admission to LAUTECH to study, Crop and Environmental Production, which I applied for. My sojourn as a agricultural Student student, has made me grown to become more passionate about helping the nation generate revenues through Agricultural sciences, whilst feeding the nation.
My first three academic session on campus were awesome as I anticipated my farm practical year. As I understood, my farm practical year is when I get to put all the theoretical aspects I learned in classes into practice.
I was so happy as my name was among the 360 first-batched students. Apart from the fact that everything I am doing on the farm is practical, I also get to meet new friends from other departments and mingle with new people.
Ignoring the stress that comes with it, Farm Practical Year has been fun for me, and educating. Inquiring about practical aspects from the attendants in each unit and their willingness to procure answers to my questions makes it much more worthwhile.
Probably you are looking forward to your farm year. Farm Practical Year shouldn’t be joked with at all. I am happy I belong to the faculty of Agricultural sciences and I am a proud Farmer.
