Daniel Oluwaseunfunmi Ayoade was a young boy when he got admitted into LAUTECH. He is brilliant and good looking, he was given admission to study medicine at the University.
Daniel rented an apartment at Under g, and he came into the school as a gentle chap making him the rite of many, even at the hostel, and fellowship. He is a devoted Christian that attends church regularly and gives full attention to his studies. While at 100 and 200 level, he was good and worthwhile, even his parents were very happy and satisfied with his performances.
Not until, 300-level first semester. Like he does formerly, he came with an expectant mind to face his studies but he began to get distracted and his academics were nose-diving but he paid little or no attention to it. He felt he was enjoying life at its best.
His student fellowship president and some other members of the fellowship who noticed some changes in his behaviors reached out to him, but he turned deaf ears to them and even stopped attending fellowships. He was just like the proverbial dog that when he gets lost, will not listen to the hunter’s whistle.
Daniel started drinking, clubbing, and smosmokinglandss of stuff. The 300-level first semester examinations commenced and ended, he went home and his parents also noticed some changes in his behaviors but they didn’t know how worse he had become. They spoke to him like every parent will but all their advice was nothing to him.
He came back to school and continued his wayward lifestyle, and he got a new girlfriend, Folashade.
Folashade and Daniel lived like a couple. If he was not in his hostel, he was with Folashade. However, unknown to him, his girlfriend, was the leader of the most notorious cult group on campus.
Folashade invited him to their initiation of new members and he knew who she was. He was caught up in between because not attending the initiation meant losing Folashade and he was not ready to lose her, so he had no choice than to be there.
On the initiation day, the ceremony was going well as planned until another rival cult group arrived resulting into attacks on both parties. The news got to the police, and they came after one hour.
But, before their arrival some students were already attacked.
Daniel was among the victims. He suffered many injuries on his limbs, and lost alot of blood.
He was rushed to the school health center and his parents were called immediately.
His parents came. And he was furthered to LAUTECH General Teaching Hospital. He spent four months in the hospital, during which the first semester examinations were held.
He was also advised to be on strict bed rest for a month after being discharged. When he fully recovered he told his parents his story. His parents chastised him and made him see reasons for him to change his ways.
Daniel promised them to change positively and face his studies accurately. However, he had an academic session, he had to join the next set to commence 300L.
On his way back to school after the bed rest, he regretted all he had done saying “Had I known I would not have done all of that because it was an unprofitable venture”.
