Earlier today, Thursday, July 13, 2023, LAUTECH matriculated 9,706 students for the 2022/2023 academic session. The event was presided over by the university’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu.
The matriculation ceremony which took place at LAUTECH Great Hall, witnessed the presence of principal officers, from the Provosts of Colleges, Deans of Faculties to the Heads of the various departments.
As the custom of the university, the best student for the last first-year session was recognized and awarded a scholarship, spanning the duration of his undergraduate studies in the University.
In the last session, 2021/2022, the best 100 Level student is Oyewale Stephen Oluwatobi, of the Medicine and Surgery department. Oyewale was admitted to LAUTECH with a UTME Score of 302 and a Post UTME Score of 74.2 percent. The record of his performance in the department indicated that his CGPA is 5.0 and a cumulative score of 837 out of 1000 marks.

Also, in a short chat with Iwuoha Emmanuel, a matriculant, Emmanuel said he felt great because matriculating was like a dream come true.
Professor Kalilu, in his speech, also urged the matriculating students to remain committed to their academic pursuits so that their guardians’ investment may be evident in them.
