In an email sent to the University community today, Wednesday, 5th July 2023, signed by Lautech Principal Registrar, S. O. Olaosebikan, the school management made known further significances concerning the approaching 2022/2023 matriculation event.
As released earlier the event would take place on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at “The Great Hall”. Expectedly, all freshmen are required to visit their respective faculty offices to collect academic gowns to be worn for the matriculation ceremony, from Thursday, 6th July 2023, and return the gowns to their respective faculty on or before Friday, 21st July 2023, and, a fine of #500 daily, is attached to failure to return the gown as when due.
The mail reads in part: “This is to inform all Fresh Students that the 2022/2023 matriculation ceremony has been scheduled to hold on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 9.00 a.m prompt in “The Great Hall”. To this end, all concerned are requested to visit their respective Faculty Offices for collection of academic gowns for the ceremony from Thursday, July 6, 2023.”
“The gowns collected should be returned to the respective faculty officers on or before Friday, July 21, 2023. Failure to return the gowns as and when due will attract a fine of Five Hundred Naira (N500.00) only per day to be paid to the Bursary Department of the University through the various Faculty Finance Officers.”
“All matriculating students are expected to assemble in front of “The Great Hall” by 8.00 a.m prompt and to be led to their seats in the hall by their Faculty officers at 8:30 am. Any of the matriculating students who are not seated in the hall at the stipulated time shall be locked out of the venue of the ceremony.”
“Also, all matriculating students are expected to be properly dressed for the ceremony as anyone who is not decently dressed shall not be allowed into the venue. Faculty officers are to please enforce proper dressing of their students.”
