Presently, Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso has been known to consist of seven faculties over the years. However, two faculties are to be added to the list- the Faculty of Nursing Science and the Faculty of Food and Consumer Science, come next academic session.
The Faculty of Nursing Science will comprise the Department of Nursing while the Faculty of Food and Consumer Science will have the Department of Food Science, Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Department of Consumer Science.
Although Food Science is currently an option in the Department of Food Science and Engineering, nonetheless, the DSA confirmed that the Food Science option of the Department would join the new faculty while the Food Engineering option will remain at the Faculty of Engineering.
He further stated that the addition of new faculties in the school is a sign of development.
“The university is expanding, and it’s expanding in all facets. Addition of new Faculties is a sign that the university is growing”.
He also mentioned that the faculties would be opened for students seeking admission to the university in the next academic session.
