On Thursday, 8th June 2023, a 400-level Computer Science student of LAUTECH, who doubles as the CEO of Sunmence, a web agency, organized an event tagged ‘The Future of Work’, alongside the launching of a new workspace named ‘BugGy Hub’, located at S67, Sejeet Mega Plaza, Under g, Ogbomoso.
This event was graced with the presence of Professor S.O. Olabiyisi, the Director of LAUTECH ICT, who was a guest speaker. He related through his speech, his struggles to balance academics with tech skills as a student, and how having a conducive workspace can complement this.
Afterward, the keynote speaker, Boluwatife Adebisi, the Organizer at Google Developer Group (GDG), Ogbomoso, took on his speech. She critically examined the future of the work and how everyone can embrace innovation and collaboration.
Further, an award of appreciation was presented to both speakers, after which the CEO gave a short closing speech and a vote of thanks to his team members and all guests. In his speech, he briefly stated the idea behind the hub, which is “You don’t sleep where you work, and you don’t work where you sleep. Working from home reduces productivity, hence the need for a workspace.”

Other guests in attendance are as follows: The President of TEDxLAUTECH, The Co-Organizer of Google Developer Groups (GDG), The President of Junior Chamber International (JCI), The Vice President (Admin) of Union of Campus Journalists (UCJ), and a Microsoft Student Ambassador. The event ended with a photograph and networking session.
