The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, while on a visit to LAUTECH on Tuesday, the 1st of June, has further reiterated his promise to reduce the institution’s tuition fee. This is in line with one of the promises he made during his electioneering campaign.
During the electioneering campaign in 2019, Governor Seyi Makinde also promised the LAUTECH student populace that his regime would work towards the sole ownership of the institution and that he would fix the UnderG- Stadium road. Both of these promises were fulfilled within two years of resumption to office.
While at the institution’s amphitheatre on Tuesday, the governor explained that although LAUTECH’s tuition fee is still the lowest in the entire Southwest, he will make good his promise.
He said, “Let me tell you, the LAUTECH fee is still the lowest in the entire South-West. Having said that, I will reduce your fee across board; whether indigenes or non-indigenes, even new students. There will be a reduction of 25 per cent across board.”
Students of the institution rejoiced at this news, as they were elated with the latest development.
