In recent years,100 level students have been facing some challenges which one might say is affecting their level of productivity.
For one, lecture theatres. While one is expected to sit quietly and comfortably in a class to listen to lecturers, the lecture theatres make this hard.
They have lower capacity when compared to the number of students allocated to each of them. Even the chairs and tables in them are no better. Some of them are damaged, and useless for sitting while only a few are still good.
There’s also the sound system used to conduct lectures. Those ones are best described as poor as they do not reach ½ of the hall.
Fresher’s registration activities are not left out. The queue is always very long and congested, even in the early hours of the day. Some students sacrifice by missing classes for this registration. But still, that doesn’t guarantee the fact that they will get it done.
Not to leave out the poor network connection often encountered during Computer Based Tests(CBT). This itself is a problem that should be looked into specially.
Pressure from school bullies such as thugs, miscreants, and cultists is another factor which puts fear in the heart of most freshers. Thus turning their minds away from their primary assignments.
If not looked into on time, set after set will continue to battle these problems unend. Therefore, I’ll suggest that the school creates a budget which caters for the maintenance of the halls annually. They could also request for construction of larger capacity lecture theatres for the students, from the appropriate authorities.
Additionally, a sort of time table should be created for registration. This way, each department knows when and where they are to go for registration. All registration and verification can even be made remote, so that documents can be inputted online.
For the server problem, more modern and reliable options should be looked into. A well-facilitated and coordinated network should be adopted for computer based tests.
