Ladoke Akintola University of Technology on Wednesday matriculated over 6000 students.
The University Registrar Dr K.A. Ogunleye lead the matriculating students in the recitation of the oath of allegiance which signifies their membership as students of the school.
The Vice-Chancellor Prof Michael O. Ologunde recognized Taofeek Adegboyega Abiodun of Civil Engineering department with a cumulative GPA of 4.96 as the best 100 level student for the 2017/2018 academic session.
In the VC’s speech, he said over 6000 applicants were offered admission and he advised them to put in their best and make use of every opportunity that comes their way during their stay on campus.
He encouraged the matriculants to emulate the overall best student of 100 level, 2017/2018 session as their admission comes with a lot of privileges now and in the future. He also stated that there are graduates and undergraduates of the institutions doing great here and in diaspora.
In a chat with matriculants Femi and David, they said they feel like they’ve achieved something being matriculated today. In contrary to what Femi and David said, Falokun Peters Happiness from Biochemistry department said “There’s no special feeling about today, it’s just like every other day. The real feeling will be when I graduate with one of the best results.”
