Ogbomosho isn’t novel to us. After all, it was our incubator for two sessions before we were sent out to Osun to complete the rest of our journeys.
Only this time, we have been sent back to Ogbomosho forever.
For me, getting back to Ogbomosho full time is a nightmare I have dreaded. Though there are positives, the negatives outweigh them.
On getting back, the struggle for accommodation was the biggest challenge as everyone from the blocks of LAUTECH Isale Osun were pitted against one another. Trying to find the best place to live in, considering distance, finance and convenience.
It was indeed a survival of the fastest.
Asides from the reality dawning on me that I might not find a suitable hostel, I was hit by the fact I would have to struggle with an epileptic power supply.
As a comrade of survival, as I like to call myself, I kept fighting on, trying to contain and manage the sudden change from the fluctuating weather to the inflation in transportation fare.
Oshogbo would be greatly missed for the comfort it brought me. As we say here in LAUTECH, “Intimidation We Condone Not!” If there’s one thing I have learnt, it is to make lemonade out of lemons.
